We are looking for an innovative, detail-oriented Senior Engineer Mass Properties (f/m/d) who will be responsibie for the Do328 legacy programs for flight mass, gravity and weight for current and future aircrafts.

Your responsibilities in this role include:

  • Identify mass, center of gravity, and inertias of parts, assemblies, systems and aircraft based on estimated, calculated and measured/verified data
  • Develop and maintain weight, balance and mass properties processes and databases
  • Establish weight reporting to chief engineering and program management
  • Identify weight saving opportunities, manage weight reduction measures and support engineering departments to achieve target weights
  • Work with engineering departments to establish target weights for equipment and system-level specifications.
  • Establish certification weight, center of gravity and load distribution limits
  • Technical direction and leadership of team members with regard to mass properties, weight & balance
  • Compiling, reviewing and approving compliance documents
  • Supporting the airworthiness office in compiling certification documentation (certification program, compliance statement)
  • Responsible for the contents of the Weight & Balance Manual (WBM), interface to the TechPub department with regard to the WBM
  • Project Management reg. tasks, schedules, resources

You’ll bring this with you

  • Educated Engineering degree (Masters degree or equivalent) in Aerospace or Aeronautics
  • 10+ years relevant experience in aerospace
  • 5 years relevant experience in mass properties, weight & balance for fixed-wing or rotorcraft
  • 2 years of experience in reviewing and approving compliance documents and safe of flight documents for test aircraft
  • Solid understanding of aircraft materials and lightweight design
  • Experience in developing and using aircraft mass databases
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office Tools
  • Very good written and oral knowledge in English. German knowledge would be preferable.
