The Head of Flight Physics is disciplinary leading the department for aircraft disciplines Aerodynamics, Loads, Aeroelastic, Engine Performance, Aircraft Performance Weight & Balance, Handling Qualities Simulations, Lofting and Masterlines. The responsibility is to build the competences and resources to secure the deliverables as well as defining the methods, processes and tools required to execute the activities throughout the product life cycle from early research and concept phases, programme development to continuous product support. The position responsibility includes the processes and delegations compliant with the design organisation for the relevant competences within department.
- Ramp up the required competences and capabilities according to defined deliverables and agreed head count
- Manager teams of 30+ engineers in the area of Flight Physics that span Flagship product of the company, but also in service engineering and R&T in a matrix organization
- Set , Manage and monitor budgets and EVM Milestones monthly
- Leading disciplinary an engineering department building upon a competence management and tailored training concepts
- Implement programme and project requirements into a resource planning including core and non-core activities and a viable sub-contracting policy
- Ensures adequate technical, process and procedure training and expertise of the engineering team
- Cerate all performance reviews , provide constructive feedback as required and engage team
- Create, Monitor and control project and technical Risks for Flight Physics
- Create Statement of work for engineers service providers and manage claims as needed
You’ll bring this with you
- Educated Engineering degree (BA Eng/Sc, MA Eng/Sc) in aeronautics , aerospace, or similar
- 10+ years professional experience in relevant fields of aircraft development and product requirements for CS25 Aircraft
- 10+ years professional experience in mahaging teams of 30-40 engineers in Flight physics relevant fields of aircraft development and product requirements
- Wide proficiency of latest methods, processes and tools for flight physics disciplines and design requirements.
- New product development experience of at least one new aircraft programme
- Communication and leadership skills
- Ability to prioritise, manage and execute multiple simultaneous tasks
- Assertive, pro-active, innovative and creative with excellent executive summary abilities
