This is what you can do:

  • Lead and coordinate metal surface technology development and qualification activities for aerostructure applications in accordance with OEM standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor, assess, and communicate REACh and other environmental regulatory developments and evaluate their impact on existing and future materials, processes, and product configurations.
  • Define, plan, and execute qualification activities for materials and processes, including:

    • Preparation of test strategies and detailed test plans
    • Critical analysis and interpretation of test results
    • Technical substantiation and implementation of specification updates


  • Establish, validate, and maintain OEM specifications for materials, processes, and standard parts, defining capability limits and industrial constraints for aerospace-certified production.
  • Provide M&P design support through review of design data, drawings, concessions, repair instructions, in-service documentation, and AOG-related activities, as applicable.
  • Interface with Procurement, Quality, and Industrial organizations to ensure alignment of M&P solutions with aircraft schedule, rate, and supply-chain requirements.
  • Act as Design Responsible Engineer (DRE) for assigned DAG knowledge areas, for specification approval and sign-off.
  • Maintain technical liaison with suppliers regarding alternative materials, processes, and technology developments.
  • Support supplier qualification, surveillance, and audit activities in accordance with OEM and regulatory requirements.


You’ll bring this with you:

  • Recognized subject-matter expert in Materials & Processes within the aerospace domain.
  • Master’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Materials Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in industrial chemical surface treatments of metallic substrates for corrosion protection; experience in adhesive bonding is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of REACh and applicable environmental and chemical regulations.
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in M&P roles within aircraft development or certification programs.
  • Proven track record in material and process qualification and certification activities.
  • Demonstrated experience in mentoring and technical development of junior engineers.
  • Strong ability to manage priorities and execute multiple parallel activities in a program environment.
  • Capability to lead complex technical activities across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills in an international context.
